What is it?
Chickadee is a little application that lets you "channel surf" Twitter. Basically, it finds out what people are Twittering about, and gives you a random tweet on one of those topics. It's a neat way of keeping up with the Twittering world with a minimum amount of effort.
Do I gotta be a Twitter user?
Nope. No login needed!
Are there any bugs?
Probably. This is my first "Learn how to use Adobe Flex and AIR and the Twitter APIs all at once" project, so it's a little klunky at the moment and I'm sure there are bugs to be found. I'll be improving it as time goes on, but don't expect this to turn into some fancy application like TweetDeck. My intention is to keep this small and simple. Like, oh... say... a cute tiny bird of some sort.
What's new?
Glad you asked! Here's what's new in version 0.92...
- Clicking on a person's picture will bring up their profile so you can find out a little more about 'em
- Clicking a URL will open up that web page in a new window
- We don't show tweets from people who spam their posts with too many trending tags.
Okay, so can I download it?
Yes! Download it here!
Important Legal Terms of Use: Chickadee is provided as-is with absolutely no warranty. If it, like, blows up your computer upon installation, you can't sue me. But that would be pretty cool.
Where do I send comments and feedback?
Send it to me at . I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have.
Hey, if your product is called Chickadee, why'd you go with an orange color scheme?
Shut up.
Do you have exciting screenshots to show me?
Yes! (Your definition of "exciting" may vary.)
