Historical Note
I'd just like to point out the excellent Photoshopping job I did with Todd's head. Thank you very much.

The EA Celebrity Challenge!

Le Freek -- C'est Chic!

Wow... has it really been a month since the last EA Celebrity Challenge? It seems like it was just 4 weeks ago. Nevertheless, we've gone ahead and cornered Todd Arnold into doing an interview for us. Todd's the producer of Freekstyle, a cool new motocross game (available now for the PlayStation2) where you get to do things on a bike that would normally get you killed. Or at least neutered.

Todd's hobbies include flying airplanes, and rockin' out on the guitar. He's a big Phish fan, although, as he keeps reminding all of us, he's not a hippie. Todd also had the unfortunate experience of being my manager many years ago, and I don't think the emotional scars have entirely healed.

Anyway, let's see how you do against our Celebrity this week...

Todd takes EA's "Casual Friday" dress policy a bit too far

Pogo: What's the name of the new monster movie coming out this summer where David Arquette battles giant spiders?
Todd: Giant spiders... uh... oh, that's Eight Legged Freaks

Pogo: Who's the bigger freak: David Arquette, Carrot Top, or Tom Green?
Todd: Hmmm... I'd go with Carrot Top. I think David Arquette isn't such a freak now that's he's stopped with the phone commericals. Tom Green is probably more normal than anybody would like to admit. Carrot Top is the biggest freak.

Disagree
Pogo: Did you know that David Arquette also did some voice acting in the EA snowboarding game SSX Tricky?
Todd: Yeah, I knew that.
Pogo: Well what R&B Singer, who also did voice acting for SSX Tricky, has a song entitled "Sex-o-Matic Venus Freak?"
Todd: Oh, that's gotta be Macy Gray.
Agree
Disagree
Pogo: What are the first two lines of the Rick James song "Super Freak?"
Todd: You're such a super freak, /
I wish there were more like you

Pogo: Will you sing it?
Todd: No.
Agree

Pogo: What popular rap song in the early 90's sampled the song "Super Freak"?
Todd: You're asking the wrong guy. Didn't I just tell you I'm a Phish fan?
Pogo: Oh, c'mon. Take a guess...
Todd: Okay. If it's an early 90's rap song, it's gotta be "Ice, Ice, Baby."
Agree
Disagree
Pogo: Okay, if you're such a big Phish phan, what's in the Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor Phish Food?
Todd: The sad part is, I know this. At least I think so... it's chococlate ice cream with fish-shaped chocolate chips and marshmallow and caramel swirl.
Agree
Disagree
Pogo: In what movie does a character say, "That's not flying! That's falling with style!"
Todd: Do I get a hint?
Pogo: Tom Hanks said it.
Todd: Cast-Away.

Pogo: William Strunk wrote a best-selling book called The Elements of Style that's still referred to today. Is this book a guideline for...
  • A. Fashion and make-up for young women?
  • B. Proper punctuation and grammar for writers?
  • C. Common improvizational techniques for Jazz music?
  • D. Etiquette?
Todd: I'll go with the writing style one.

Pogo: What famous martial artist followed the Jeet Kune Do fighting style?
Todd: Jean Claude Van Damme.

Pogo: Which of the following are not hot summer trends right now, according to InStyle magazine
  • A. The Pink Pucker (wearing pink lipstick)
  • B. The Bronze Look
  • C. Black toenail polish
  • D. Wispy bangs
Todd: I'm going to go with The Bronze Look -- that seems awfully 70's.
