The Price is Close Enough

Recently, we came across a web site that specializes in booking famous musical and comedy acts for college concerts. It was kind of interesting seeing what kind of prices these guys could charge. For instance, ex-Saturday Night Live member Dennis Miller charges $50,000 for a performance. But ex-SNL member Victoria Jackson is a bargain at only $5,000. (Although to be fair, I hear the Dennis Miller performance comes with several hundred pages of reference material, so that you can understand his jokes.)

Anyway, we thought we'd do a little comparison shopping by sizing up these performance fees with some other items on our Christmas list. See if you can figure out which costs more.

To help you out, I'll mention that most of the acts fall into the $2,500 to $75,000 range. I think that's only the band's fee, and doesn't include things like lighting, a sound system, stadium rentals, and, of course, the fog machines.

Okay, ready? Which costs more...
